Monika Cyrani – female power with depth of soul

Award-winning singer, composer & singing soul companion

She is sensual. She is direct. Energy vibrates. Vitality shines. And when she sings the dance of life, clad in her flaming red coat, she is both dance and life. So many colours! So many emotional emotions! So much expression and variation in her voice – Monika Cyrani. This is female power with depth of soul.

Monika has repeatedly rejected commercial offers from the music industry because she did not want to give up her own, unmistakable sound. She also wants to encourage her audience to be true to themselves, to live their own lives, she says and smiles.

People feel touched and encouraged at the same time at Monika Cyrani’s concerts. But the artist doesn’t just convey soft-sounding help for life and sensual, supernatural emotional worlds. She has far too much temperament to only indulge in angelic melodies. A fire burns in her singing, sometimes glowing delicately, sometimes blazing untamed. This woman sparks!

‘I enjoy transforming feelings into sound. Then they are neither positive nor negative, they are just sound.’

Accompanied by drums, the musician unfolds a powerful, wild sound magic. She transforms herself into a shaman – and then switches back to very personal songs about a woman’s longing or anger. But she doesn’t stop there either. She sits down at the monochord and immerses herself in the warm sound of meditative transparency and clarity and enchants her audience with this gentle, often unearthly singing. This music gets under your skin, purifies your thoughts and celebrates life.

Musical biography

Monika Cyrani was born in Prague. She discovered her love of music as a child and sang in the children’s school choir.

When she later attended a music secondary school in Munich, she was a soloist in the school jazz band, which qualified for the nationwide competition ‘Schulen musizieren’. The prize for the school band: studio recordings. Monika’s first recordings as a soloist. Many performances with the school band followed.

1990 – Start of intensive vocal training. Further solo performances and successes with the school band follow.

1992/1994 – The singer-songwriter begins training as a composer at the ‘Peter Pan’ music studio in Munich. She learns how to finalise and produce her own songs in the studio.

1994/1996 – Monika Cyrani composes many melodramatic pop songs and musical-like melodies. Together with the composer and arranger Christian France, she also creates the UNICEF SONG ‘Live in Harmony’, which is performed several times. (Munich City Festival, BURDA Gala, UNICEF Gala etc.) The singer also trained her own children’s choir for this.

1997 – Engagements with various event organisers and advertising companies for jingles.

1998 – In response to continuing demand, the young artist begins to teach singing in conjunction with self-awareness. ‘Singing from the heart’. Many more original compositions are created.

1999 – Monika Cyrani takes first place at the 17th nationwide rock and pop festival in the solo singing category and wins the ‘Songpreis 99’ and with it a CD production of her own compositions. These and other original compositions can now be found on the CD ‘Here I stand’. Some were written in collaboration with the composer Christian France.

2000 – The artist receives the award for ‘Best Female Singer – Original Composition’ at the 18th National Rock and Pop Festival and with it a year’s coaching and placement with major production companies. The prizewinner rejects the commercial offers she receives because they do not correspond to what she wants to convey with her music. In this way, the singer-songwriter increasingly finds her own authentic soulful sound and musicality.

2001 – Monika Cyrani founds her own gospel choir, with which she mainly performs in churches. The concert series is called ‘The Message of Love’ and performs gospels, spirituals and relevant original compositions.

2002 – Numerous performances with the 5-soloist gospel group ‘Spirit of Joy’.

2003/2004 – Together with the lyricist Patricia Biondo, the artist organises another successful concert series, exclusively with her own compositions: ‘The Spirit of Love’ – ‘Music for the Soul’. A live DVD of the same name is produced.

2003/2005 – The CD ‘Es gibt mehr’ (‘There is more’) with exclusively German original compositions is released. She writes some of the song lyrics in collaboration with the author and editor of Bayerischer Rundfunk Ingrid Leitner.

2006 – Monika Cyrani sings at several psychological and spiritual lectures and meditations as well as at satsangs of various spiritual teachers. Inspired by spiritual experiences in meditation, the musician writes spiritual texts that reflect these experiences. An expression of her gift of mediality to address a deeper level of us humans. This is how the CD ‘Healing Inspiration’ was created. The song lyrics were written in collaboration with the American lyricist Patricia Biondo, who also assisted in the production of this album. The artist performs at various events organised by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, including the Gasteig and Goetheforum in Munich.

2007 – Monika Cyrani organises meditative evenings with improvisations and her latest songs, accompanying herself on the piano. The singer uses the meditative instrument monochord in her ‘free improvisations’. The melodies and the language are created in the moment. The artist calls this language, formed from primal sounds, primal language.

2008 – The singer and composer produces the live double CD ‘Alles ist in mir’ with original compositions in English and German. A ‘free improvisation’ in the original language also flows into this album. The English lyrics are written with the lyricist Patricia Biondo.

2009/2010 – Presentation of her album ‘Alles ist in mir’. Creation of new compositions.

2012/2013 – The singer-songwriter is invited by the well-known psychologist and life-help expert Robert Betz and performs with him at his lectures in various cities in Germany and Austria. She becomes known to a wider audience. The songs ‘Ich nehm mich in die Arme’ and ‘Ich bin gut’ become the most frequently performed hit songs. These songs are also featured on Robert Betz’s meditation CDs.

2013/2014 – Monika Cyrani composes and produces her album ‘Selbstliebe’ in German. She presents herself to her audience anew, as a ‘Woman of Fire’, because she is convinced that we can only make our dreams come true if they ignite the fire in our hearts: ‘Fire is warmth, security, safety and light. But it is also the creative force within us that is clear, direct and uncompromising.’

2015/2016 – Many new compositions are created, which the singer prepares for her next CD. Her latest songs increasingly interweave the German or English language with the original language. Monika Cyrani transforms herself into a shaman, a wild woman – a new expression of her musicality and her gift of touching people on a level that is not rational, but comes from the primal force, from the innermost core of our being.

2016/2019 – Monika Cyrani continues to sing for various peace events and at benefit concerts. Two new albums are produced: ‘Feuer des Herzens’ and ‘Der Stern in uns’.

2024 – The new albun “The Fire in You” is released with English songs in collaboration with Patricia Biondo.

Monika is currently working on several other productions, a CD on dealing with grief and an album with pieces in her own original language, an intuitive vocal improvisation. She is also working on a number of unpublished compositions from earlier stages of her career.
